EMON incorrect amps

Postby igor on Sat Mar 07, 2015 7:31 pm

Have an EMON HII unit. Been working for 14 years. Had The boat out of The water for several months, no batteries connected. Now it reads -12 Amps with 0 Amps load. However the trend is correct, more items on, more consumption. Amps input is also fairly high 180 Amps to 250 Amps when I know I only have between 50 and 120 Amps in. Main shunt mV direct reading is correct with what I expect. Tried a different main shunt sensing cable, same incorrect readings. Voltage readings are correct. Set amps at 0, same problem. Factory Reset, problem continues. What do you suggest I check?

Clean all connections from the shunt to monitor.

Cleaned everything; the shunt screws, both screws for each cable on TB1, opened the EMON and unplugged the connector, cleaned contacts there too, the pins and the plug connectors. The mV readings are as expected on the shunt, on both sides of the appropriate screws of TB-1 and at the end of the plug on the Inside of the EMON. Readings are still way off: 60 Amps expected and mV DC measurements confirmed this vs 300 Amps displayed on EMON screen.
What is the next step you suggest I follow?

I also checked continuity on each wire from the plug to TB1, and Ok, also checked for cross continuity for all cables and Ok.

The Energy Monitor II is no longer repairable. The circuits are 20+ years old and not available anymore.
