Solution for Catamaran

Hi,
I am an old Ample customer (ns2 and emon) from a previous boat. I just purchased a catamaran and am looking for an alternator regulator solution. Of course I have two alts on two engines. I thought NS2 plus the Alternator Driver Module was your companies recommendation. But I just spoke with and individual there who said the Alternator Driver Module was no longer available.

I want multi step charging from when one or the other or both engines running. I have externally regulated alternators, two starting batteries one house bank.

Is SAR and the Dual Alternator Controller the solution. How about noise on the line?

How about one NS2 on each side feeding a positive distribution post.

You can use two NS2 regulators as long as their alternators are not charging the same battery. If so then running one engine at a time is a possible work around. If you run them both, once the first one hits the absorption setpoint it will drop out. That's OK, but it also means the tach will quit if it is connected to the alternator.

The SAR V3 and DAC will always keep the two alternators sharing the load to charge a single house bank. As long as you twist the wires as shown on the DAC wiring diagram, noise should not be a problem.
