marine isolation transformer and metal boat ac saftey wire

I read a metal boat quarterly april 2001 where David Smead talks about metal boat ac wiring and isolation transformers. Im still unclear if the green ac safety wire is supposed to be connected to the hull when using a marine isolation transformer to best negate galvanic corrosion. also when he talks of marine generators connecting ac ground through the dc neg. Is that going to provid the same safety as a shore power green ground. how is the dc. negative an ac ground? I have a aluminum catamaran under construction. thanks Gene
