Disconnecting Various products to save power

Postby js4sje5 on Sun Jul 21, 2013 5:48 pm

I have a Batrmon-12 a Smart Alternator Regulator V3 and a Smart Charger Manager. I keep my boat on a mooring so I have no access to shore power. All three of these products have leds that insist on flashing just because - twenty four hours a day. According to the Batmon, the cumulative amp draw is .2 - not .02. If I start pulling fuses to shut these things up when not in use, will I affect settings or programs? Or not?

Measuring currents close to zero is difficult so the Batmon could be off. Normally currents that small are not a great concern. If you really want to know the draw as you unplug devices use a good digital meter, such as a Fluke which you can put on a milli-ampere scale.

You will not loose set points by removing power.
