Parallel Charging Solenoid

Postby jgd on Tue Jun 30, 2015 10:38 pm

I recently purchased a 200 amp solenoid from Ample Power, it is connected through a NS2 regulator. The solenoid seems to operate at a high temperature when closed to charge the starting battery, it becomes nearly too hot to touch. Is this normal?

We are trying to figure out why the alarm is irregularly sounding inconsistent errors. While we scroll through the rest of the forum for help, want to ask if the solenoid is directional, only one way to wire it, or can it be either way. If one way, how to tell? The solenoid for my propane has an arrow. Nothing like that on the ample power one.
