Smart Alternator Regulator V3 - question on lights

Postby swybranski on Tue Jan 12, 2010 10:07 am

I recently purchased a sailboat with a Smart Alternator Regulator V3 aboard. Unfortunately, because I just bought her, I'm not yet familiar with many of the systems. Anyway, when I was on her last, I noticed that the Status Indicator was flashing green. I don't recall the frequency and, after doing some research, I realize that this is important. I will check that out when aboard next. In any event, in my experience, green lights, even flashing green lights are usually a good thing.

I also noted that the Parallel Inidator was flashing yellow. I don't see any reference to this in the online materials I reviewed. Can someone tell me what it means and if I need to be concerned?

By the way, the Error Indicator was not illuminated.

Thanks.
