sar12 smart regulator

working with a sailboat with a delco alternator and a sar12 smart regulator. having several charging issues and am in need of a wiring installation guide or diagram along with what voltages should be present at what terminals. the wiring is a mess and without a wiring diagram im not sure where the wires should be. the alternator has a B+ terminal and a B- terminal and only has a "F" (field) terminal and a "R" terminal. engine is a yanmar 3HM35F diesel.
