Wiring a Smart Regulator V3

I am starting to plan the wiring installation of my V3 regulator. I notice that on the diagram supplied that the positive line from both banks has a PD before the connection to the alternator. That is where my Battery Switch is located. Do I still have to install a PD between the SOL-12 and the alternator? I am confused.

There is no battery switch in the wiring diagram. Note that the alternator is wired directly to the battery with no intervening switch. A distribution post is recommended to join large wires rather than trying to pile them on a battery post.
