Ground and Alt.Gnd wires

Hi, I've verified my Next Step.
I have the GROUND wire that is only jumpered with ALT.GND wire.
The ALT.GND wire is also normally connected.
What can happen on the system ?
It has been working this way for many years .
What should I do ?

Set points change with the amount of alternator current.

Temperature measurements vary with the amount of alternator current.

Alternator current begins to taper abnormally as the set point is approached.

Before changing anything, disconnect the B+ terminal first and reconnect it after ground are changed.
