Hello,

I'm getting voltage runaway alarm when running the engine after a solar panel install. The voltage limit on the solar controller is 14.4. Can I use the voltage adjustment on the next step regulator to set the set-point a bit higher than 14.4 so that I will not reach the alarm threshold?

You can set the voltage higher, but it may destroy your batteries. Disconnect the solar panels when the engine is running.

I see. If I could ask another question please. When measuring absorbtion voltage, the voltmeter negative lead is on GND and the voltmeter negative lead should be on Batt volts on the regulator? May sound like a strange question, I just want to make sure.

If you wired according to the instructions, just read the voltage across the battery and then at the regulator. They should be essentially the same.
