VOLVO 2030 ALTERNATOR REPALCEMENT WIH 4023

Having purchased a 4023 alternator and NS2 in April I am unable to get it to work properly. It is installed on a Volvo 2030D replacing the stock alternator. The biggest issue is attaching the wires from the old alt to the new.

The Volvo alt had 4 posts with wires labeled and mounted as follows:

B+ Positive
B- Negative (ground) and (wire to glow relay)
W (wire goes to tachometer)
D+ (wire to rocker switch. Glow plug – alarm test acknowledge) and (wire to electronics module which is for alarms)

How should I attached the wires from the old to the new?

Don't use any of those wires. The positive and negative wires are way too small for the alternator.

Use the NS2 wiring diagram only.
