change to double pulley

Postby JMcJ on Tue Nov 30, 2010 10:21 am

My B 125 E11142 alternator runs a single 2.5 pulley (drive ratio is 3:1) with a belt which also runs the waterpump on a Ford Lehman 120 diesel. Belt slip is an issue and I am concerned not to over tighten the belt. Therefore I am considering moving the alternator to the opposite side of the engine so it can be double belted. Can you supply a double pulley I can change out myself, and if so what is the size and cost? Charge is regulated with a Next Step regulator to a 750 amp battery bank with an emergency start battery behind an Echo charge.
