Calibrating Tachometer with 4023 Alternator

Hi:

I have a 4023 Alternator installed with a SV3 regulator. The system is working great. The only problem is the engine RPMs are reading about 500 RPMs higher than they should be. Is there anyway to calibrate the system so the RPMs are reading correctly?

Thanks!

Glenn

The alternator signals are fixed by construction. You can change the sheave to get the RPM you want, but the alternator output will be reduced at low RPM.

Or, you can tweak the tach.
