Genie alternator fried I think.

I have a Genie genset purchased in 2000. Recently the injection elbow disintegrated all at once and sprayed salt water all over the genset. You recently made me a new injection elbow (this was about 6 weeks ago and done with Doug McClain) but it now appears the saltwater shorted out the alternator. With the engine running, I only get about 2 volts to the field wire and the green light on the regulator blinks 1 sec on, 3 secs off. I applied 12v directly to the field wire, sparks flew, and the engine stalled. I talked with Doug again today and he suggests that I may have to have the alternator rebuilt. If so, is that something Ample Power does? I will be down with my boat in San Diego in a few weeks. Do you have a dealer down there?

Any help would be appreciated.
