What are the normal parameters of the operating temp in this model, and what temperature thermostat is in the engine? So far it has run at about 140 degrees. Thanks.

The thermostat is set a 190.

The problem with gauge panels is twofold. 1) allow for 20% inaccuracies; 2) the temperature sender is mounted adjacent to the thermostat, but not in direct coolant flow, so it will always read low, even when the fitting is insulated from atmosphere. It takes a long time for the sender to come up to temperature.

The gauge is an indicator that's useful to show when things are not normal. Run the unit for 45-60 minutes under full load and make a note of the gauge reading. If you have an infrared thermometer you can correlate the two readings.
