adjusting absorption voltage

Postby Independence on Mon Aug 29, 2011 6:46 pm

I have a next-12P regulator and recently tried to equalize my batteries by adjusting the absorption charge to 15 volts (while the green light was constant) and setting the time for 5 hours. Now I can't get the regulator to come off bulk charge at 15 v. I understand I am supposed to wait for the constant green light before I readjust the voltage back to 14.4v but the regulator is always showing bulk charge 2 sec on 1 sec off up to 15 v and does not seem to go into absorption mode. Is there a way I can readjust the potentiometer without having it in "absorption OK to adjust mode?"

You can always make a downward adjustment. Turn on a load that will drag the batteries down, and then slowly tweak the pot back to 14.4.

Don't forget to disconnect the T+ wire before adjustment.
