SAR V3 to Dual Alternator Controller ALT GND

Greetings,
Preparing to label, diagram, and wire up Two Alternators (#4023), a Dual Alternator Controller and the SAR V3, I came accross a question. At the connection for the SAR V3 at ALT.GND, will the correct wiring be a wire from each GND post of each alternator (2 #14 wires), and a wire from the Dual Alternator Controller TB1-9, ALT-REG (1 #16 wire) ? Or is the Dual Alternator Controller providing the ground connection for the SAR V3 through DAC/ TB1-10 GND-IN and the Negative Distribution post? All else appears very clear and straight forward for the interconnection.

The DAC provides the ground for the SAR. Do not wire to each alternator or you may end up with burned up wires.

Hi,
I just wanted to confirm. In the situation described there will be no wire/s connected to the Alt Gnd terminal on the SarV3. I thought I read a conflicting answer in another post.

Not correct.

Look at the table in the DAC manual and compare the pins in that table with the SARV3 wiring diagram.

Regulator On/Off Gnd B+ FLD
SAR V3 Pin 2 Pin 6 Pin 4 Pin 5

The wiring diagram and manual for the DAC has been updated to show Alt. Gnd instead of just ground.

Thanks for the reply and the update to the Dac manual. Do I still take a wire from neg. dist. to ground on the SarV3 as well?

Connect the wires between the DAC and the regulator first.

All wires on the regulator not connected to the DAC get wired according to the SARV3 manual.
