Hello Coulomb,
My manual says nothing about how to set Full V and Full A. You're information about the 5 to 7% rule for setting Full A, for example, is nowhere in the manual. I have set the Peukert exponent and charging parameters, eg, the Float voltage by a Lifeline owner's manual, but nowhere in there can I find information to guide these Full A/Full V settings on the ESP. Unfortunately, in the Lifeline manual, they state that a battery is "fully charged when current drops below 0.5% of the battery's rated capacity", which doesn't help with the settings.
I'll download the other manual as you suggest. Also, is there an updated unit that I can buy from Ample Power that will be an easy fit with all the other, unfortunately dated, Ample Power products in my boat at present. I noticed your warning to folks not to turn off their ESPs because of an irreplacable battery at the end of its life in the memory chip. I don't want to end up in this position in El Salvador.
Thanks,
Bob
