I have a Genie 150. The fuel solenoid went out and I've heard the replacements are poorly made. I was told about a alternate fuel shut off and was wondering how accurate my info is. Any info of a point in the right direction would be great!

The fuel solenoids which activated the throttle arm became unreliable after the manufacturer moved production outside the U.S. A suitable mechanical replacement was not found.
Fuel is now shut off directly via a solenoid operated valve plumbed in-line with the fuel supply.

Do you have a particular brand that you would recommend? I'm assuming I could use the old harness for the new valve.

You can order one from Ample Power. It comes with a mounting bracket and fittings.
