Not sure how to use a blog or where I put this note but hopefully the administrator reads it.
I have purchased a new Volvo Penta D3 Engine and have an existing Ample Power system with alternator, regulator and monitor.
The Volvo does not allow for the Ample alternator to be mounted and I understand that dud screw up the electronic side of the engine anyway.
Therefore looking for advice on how I merge the two systems..........the great ample power monitoring system and the new D3.
I hear advice here and there but thought I would go to the well for advice before I blow something up.

Do you have an official document prohibiting after market alternators?

In the past such prohibitions have been rumors.

i am seeking that info on official statements but the initial issue is that physically the existing alternator does not accept the Ample Power generator. The existing alternator is 150 amp but internally regulated

Looks like we have a second alternator mounting bracket however not sure which alternator frame it is built for.

What type 0f frame is ample power alternator in...Delco Remy or what......also is it possible to have different frames for the ample power unit?
