next step reg. to NS2 reg.

No response from earlier question, so what I don't understand is: I had next step reg., because of external problem had to replace with your new unit - the NS2. Should not that replace the next step without a combiner which is an extra cost and effort? Especially when the next step worked fine?

The combiner function is provided on the regulator. If you want to use it, then you need an external solenoid, rated for continuous duty.

NOTE: The solenoid wiring is different from the original Next Step Regulator so before reusing the solenoid which was used with the original Next Step, review the wiring diagrams.

I have a LifeLine NS and your auto switch w/ a latching solenoid. If I upgrade to the NS2 will it drive this solenoid ? Also, can my EMON II drive the NS2 to stay in Absorption mode ?

The solenoid with the AutoSwitch is not continuous duty so it should be left with the AutoSwitch.

The NS2 does not have an input for the Emon signal, The Smart Alternator Regulator does.
