NS2 + Bank Manager II

Postby JSpi on Thu Aug 29, 2013 4:51 pm

Just replaced the V2 regulator with a NS2. The V2 had a port TB2-2 that went to the Bank Manager port 4 (charging voltage). The NS2 does not have a port for charging voltage...is there a way to connect the Bank Manager charging volts?

TB 1-2 on the V2 is the voltage input to the regulator that is used to drive the alternator field. It should be connected to positive distribution according to the wiring diagram.

On the NS2, the B+ input is on TB 1-1.

The Bank Manager should be measuring voltage at the battery, not the same physical point as the B+ input to the V2.

Thank you for the reply.
I don't have wifi on the boat and was trying to remover the wiring.
Tha Bank Manager II has terminal #4 as 'Charge Amps' and was connected to the V2 at terminal TB2-2.
I cannot identify how to connect the 'Charge Amps' sensor wire to the NS2? Or is there another place for it to be connected in the wiring so the charging amps will show on the Bank Manager?
Thank you.

The NS2 has nothing to do with any measurements that affect the Bank Manager. It sounds like someone ganged some wiring together instead of following the respective wiring diagrams.

Ok. I have wired theNS2 as per the wiring diagram.
My question is where to connect the Bank Manager II terminal #4 green wire to show charge amps?
I am not clear when reading the BMII manual, section 5.4.
There is a shunt I between the alternator positive and the batteries.
Thanks.

The wiring diagram should show that connection from the Alternator Current Sensor module.

The Bank Manager II manual does not have a wiring diagram, it just tries to explain the wiring.
Here is what I have found:
1. The NS2 is wired per the wiring diagram dated Nov. 9, 2011. It is working fine.
2. The Smart Altenator Regulator, V2, model SAR-12, wiring diagrams how's the Bank Manager II, terminal #4 going to the V2, TB2-2. I see no equivalent for the NS2.
3. The BM II manual #2004, section 5.4 'charge current measurement' is not clear where to connect the BMW II terminal #4 wire.

Please confirm where to connect the Bank Manager II #4 wire so that the charging amps will be shown on the BM II.

Thank you.
