Charging Relay

I have recently purchased an Ample Power 4023 alternator and Next Step NS2 regulator

I am working to Drawing# AT960287

I am planning to use a Blue Sea 7610 Automatic Charging Relay as the auto parallel solenoid. Is this suitable for this application with the NS2 regulator?

Also, is it necessary to fuse the out-puts from the charging relay as shown in the manufacturers drawing? 175 amp fuses are recommended for each of the 2 out-puts when charging at 120 amps. I see no such indication of fusing on the Ample Power schematics.

I can't comment on the Blue Seas gear, but it's always best to follow the official wiring diagram.

The NS2 manual does have some fuses called out.

I believe the Blue Sea relay has built in electronics that may not be required with the NS2 regulator with battery combiner option. Possibly I would be better off with one of the solenoids supplied by Ample Power. What model would be recommended for use with the 4023 Alternator?

The NS2 parallel output is active when the starter battery can be safely paralleled with the house bank. Use the 200A solenoid.
