I have had an ample power system in my custom boat since 1992. The system included all the recommended components and was wired as per the supplied diagram. The Balmar Alternator is 165amp and batteries are (4)Gel PV27's. This is my 3rd voltage regulator. Model #AT200302251.
The alternator began to surge and is putting out a voltage that seems persistently high 15.8 and more. The alternator has been sent out and rebuilt the batteries are new as well. It does not seem to be surging but it was intermittent so I am not convinced that the problem is solved. I have looked at all the temp sensors and checked fuses (needed to replace 2 but it didn't seem to make a difference) Please see the attached jpeg of your diagnostic table to assist you in the support of your product.

I meant to include in my previous post that when I tested the batteries with volt meter while they were being charge the voltage was 15.8

Thanks for posting the troubleshooting data.

According to the temperature reading, the batteries are at -6 C. At that temperature the regulator will add about 1.2V of compensation to the charge set point.
