Postby stormyweather on Mon Jan 18, 2010 1:47 pm

Hi, I have a customers boat.that the old alt was underwater so it had to be replaced and I'm wondering if any alternator is compatable with your Next Step 12v p type regulator . I called and was told to get my answers from this fourm so if you can tell me if you can. what is type A or type N ? alt that i see on the cover dont have any doc's on this. Is this a model type for your alternators ? any light on this would be great Thank you.

Ample alternators are P type, same as the Next Step Regulator.

You can use any P-type alternator, but if you want more Amps at any RPM, then an Ample alternator is the choice.
