Adding Error Resistance
The EMON II is supplied with factory defaults for all programmable
parameters, and a method to re-establish those defaults if the
user questions the present settings. In earlier units, resetting
to the default values was a simple SELECT on the FACTORY? prompt.
To achieve a reset to factory defaults in 1995, the code 911 must first be entered. Digit entry is accomplished with the UP and DOWN keys.
By selecting the FACTORY? prompt, a display of zeroes is presented. Actuating the DOWN key places a 9 in the third position from the left. Selection of that 9 moves the entry position one place to the right. Actuating an UP key will change the display to read 910. Selection on the previously entered 1 will again position the entry position to the right. Another UP key will show 911. The final selection of this value will cause a factory reset to be made. A short Beep will be heard.
If an incorrect number is entered, or the MENU key actuated, no factory reset will occur.
